Forma DJR Mono translates Aldo Novarese’s stylish neo-grotesque
to the monospaced grid. Building on DJR’s 2013 revival of Forma,
Ruggero Magrì drew a monospace that exemplifies the cleanliness
and precision of midcentury design cut with small imperfections
that come from its origins in metal type pushing ink into paper.
Monospaced typesetting has its roots in typewriters and digital
displays, but Forma DJR Mono isn’t a distressed typewriter font
nor is it a purely digital creation. It is something in between.
