Kuhlman reinterprets the expressive lettering style deployed
by graphic designer Roy Kuhlman in his book cover designs, especially
those for Barney Rosset’s Grove Press in the 1950s. The font was
designed in collaboration with Steven Brower and Craig Welsh to
commemorate the publication of Brower’s monograph, Roy Kuhlman:
Reluctant Modernist and is published with the blessing of The Kuhlman
Archive. Cut out of paper or masking film, Kuhlman’s starkly angular
letterforms burst with spontaneity and energy.
